Following on from the release of her incredible new album ‘Behave Myself’, cementing itself as one of the standout records of the year, She Drew The Gun aka Louisa Roach is now capping off her 2021 with the Working Men’s Club remix of one of the LP’s most memorable offerings, ‘Cut Me Down’ (here).
Completely reinventing Roach’s distinctive approach to the indie-rock sound, and applying a fresh and vibrant techno edge to it, this new rework of ‘Cut Me Down’ gives the original a completely revitalised direction. Stripping back nearly all of the original production and much of her own vocal melodies, the raw and pulsing new offering delivers a fresh take to her vibrant aesthetic and offers up an entirely new side to her releases throughout the year.

Speaking about the new remix, Roach added, “I’ve been a fan of Working Men’s Club since the first single, it was one of the things that drew us to working with Ross on the record so it’s brilliant to have Syd and co. do a remix for us.”
She Drew The Gun has also recently announced the details of her Panopticon Tour, a fourteen-date venture will see her head to far reaching corners of the UK to deliver her notable and powerful live performances, showcasing her diverse catalogue to date.

A powerful socialist, feminist, and proud working class scouser, She Drew The Gun’s new full-length includes the vital singles ‘Cut Me Down’ (here), ‘Class War (How Much)’ (here), ‘Next On The List’ (HERE), and title-track ‘Behave Myself’ (here) to create one of her most captivating and commanding releases to date.
Under the moniker She Drew The Gun, songwriter Louisa Roach began by playing solo gigs around Liverpool, she quickly caught the attention of The Coral’s James Skelly who she began working with at Skeleton Key Records, recruiting band members along the way.
At first glance Roach’s fuzzy psych-pop may suggest that the Wirral born songwriter is another ‘Cosmic Scouser’ but then you’re drawn into the spirit of rebellion, songs that rally against injustice and food banks and celebrate outsiderdom. Roach was late to music, releasing her first LP ‘Memories Of Another Future’ after a decade of motherhood and studying at college.
The second LP ‘Revolution of Mind’, released October 2018 continued the fine work laid out on her 2016 debut. Announced in the top 10 albums of 2018 by BBC6 Music, the record was one of the runaway indie successes of the year In 2019 the band completed a sold out UK tour and played a string of UK festivals including celebrated performances at Glastonbury and Blue Dot as well as many others. In 2020 the band played virtual gigs to help raise money for Greenpeace and the Music Venue Trust among others and look forward to a proper return to live music.
