Gazelle Twin announces anniversary release of The Entire City
GAZELLE TWIN
ANNOUNCES ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF THE ENTIRE CITY
DELUXE EDITION WITH UNRELEASED MINI ALBUM, THE WASTELANDS
OUT ON ANTI-GHOST MOON RAY – 8 APRIL
LISTEN TO HOLE IN MY HEART (FROM THE WASTELANDS)
Gazelle Twin has announced details of an anniversary Special Edition of her debut album, The Entire City, out on Silver Grey vinyl and double CD on 8 April 2022, via her own Anti-Ghost Moon Ray label.
The Entire City, originally released in 2011 and described by The Guardian as “a stunning debut”, gathered rapid acclaim and sparked a decade of creativity during which its creator, Elizabeth Bernholz has built big upon her foundation of dark, cinematic energy.
The new special edition release will be available alongside The Wastelands, a 6-track mini “twin” album available here for the first time. The Wastelands – created around the same period – was originally a library album for KPM Music. Where The Entire City remains intact with its original master and tracklisting, Wastelands expands on this shadowy, futurescape, featuring foreboding, percussive songwriting, with euphoric choral swells.

PRAISE FOR THE ENTIRE CITY
“A stunning debut” – 5/5 The Guardian
“a triumph of art-pop splendour – equal parts terror and temerity.” NME
“this is an album which hints at subconscious fears and will haunt you long after listening” – Independent on Sunday
Gazelle Twin, aka composer, musician and producer Elizabeth Bernholz, was conceived in 2009, and her debut album, The Entire City followed in 2011. Unflesh (2014) unveiled an onstage costume based on Bernholz’s teenage PE kit. In 2016, Gazelle Twin created Kingdom Come, an audio-visual performance depicting a fascist hell-scape based on JG Ballard’s final novel, and in 2018 Bernholz’s third studio album Pastoral – which saw Bernholz manifest in an unforgettable “red imp” character – was released to international acclaim, and went on to be an Album of the Year at a number of outlets including The Quietus, Uncut, Loud & Quiet, The Wire, Electronic Sound, 6Music, Rough Trade and HMV.
Pastoral was re-interpreted by Gazelle Twin and NYX electronic vocal choir and released as the acclaimed album Deep England (2021), an Album of the Year for The Quietus, BBC Radio 3 Late Junction, Metro, Resient and many more.
Recent releases include two original soundtracks released on Invada Records: The Power, written with Max de Wardener, and Nocturne.
