Her debut album ‘Moonchild’ is released on the 21st of November on Peacefrog Records (home of Little Dragon, Jose Gonzales and Nouvelle Vague) and is made up of original songs penned by 23 year old Soraia and recorded with the help of producer Paul Stacey. It was recorded over a year but has been in development for over a decade "It’s pretty much the story of everything up until I was 19".
To celebrate the launch of the album, Charlene will be performing at Bush Hall in London on the 21st November. Having experienced this unexpected success with a track that just features her vocals, this gives new fans the chance to see her play with the love of her life, her guitar. She first picked up her Father’s guitar at the age of 5 and plucked at the strings until they snapped, she then hid it behind the settee and blamed it on the cat. Her obsession with the instrument grew and grew as her musical tastes developed and by the age of 8 was competent enough to perform in front of people. Now, a good few years later, she has certainly mastered the instrument and isn’t one of your typical folk-style singer songwriters who just sit and strum, her fingers dance around the fret board with such nimbleness and ease.
Doors are at 7.30pm, age restriction is 14+, tickets are £10 and available here:
