Rain (shoegaze / post-punk / alternative) release Debut EP
RAIN – ‘SYMPHONY PAINS’ 12”
DEBUT EP OUT NOW
What the press are saying:
“Symphony Pains’ is a first spin like few others. Breaking through the fuzz of their pedalboard hogging contemporaries, it showcases a band with an unparalleled ear for melody among the murk.” – DIY Magazine
“Chaotic yet quietly controlled grunge-pop that sits amongst the cracks of everything between ’90s shoegaze, scuzzy post-punk, and DIY noise rock” – Stereogum
Close To Home Records are pleased to announce the release of the debut EP from Rain – ‘Symphony Pains’.
The first single/video SLUR has received high praise from the likes of DIY and Stereogum as well as being championed on Daniel P Carter’s BBC Radio 1 Rock Show and Seattle’s KEXP.
The record sees the band lean towards the gazier side of grunge and helps add to the haziness of their aesthetic. With a handful of weekenders and mini-tours under their belts, Rain are already making a name for themselves for all the right reasons.
Rain have seemingly accomplished with their debut what many bands take years to achieve. They’ve near-perfected their craft and they’re only just getting started.
