World Whisky Day – three Irish whiskeys around for the craic on this day for very first time; West Cork Original Blend, West Cork 10-year-old Single Malt and The Pogues’ Irish whiskey. Product info, cocktail recipe, high res images, new product launch, generally fabulous Irish whiskeys!

This global celebration on Saturday May 21st will see more sippers choosing Irish whiskey, which is forecasted to be one of the fastest-growing spirits worldwide until 2017[1].

The UK’s largest independent alcoholic drinks manufacturer, Halewood Wines & Spirits, recently launched the Irish whiskeys in response to increasing demand.

The Pogues’ Irish whiskey  is 50% owned by Halewood Wines & Spirits and contains the legendary spirit and poetic rebelliousness of the Irish band. A robust blend of 50% Irish grain whiskey aged in bourbon oak casks and 50% single malt Irish whiskey aged in sherry casks, The Pogues whiskey has an aroma of malts and cracked nuts and an ABV of 40%, it’s not for the faint hearted. Available in a 70cl bottle for £27.89 from Drinksupermarket.

This recipe, which was created for Cocktails in the City from Leeds bar, The Brotherhood, will appeal to all cocktail lovers and is easy to create at home.
