Further – Punk Rock Vampires (Fierce Panda)

With an album title that reads more like a desired perception than an accurate description, these Australian indie-rockers would have been more at home with a album called called “The Bland Leading The Bland” Not that it’s all that bad – I for one have always been a great advocate of the type of heavy guitar-based waltz-time indiedom.

Labelmates, Death Cab For Cutie, for example, are one of my favourite bands, and the odd track, ‘A Song For A Shameful Epic’ is pretty good. But there’s nothing to get your teeth into – and I’m far too young for musical dentures. Approach with caution – they may be armed and dangerous. Or that’s what they’d have you believe. 6.8/10 Chris Merriman
