Due to phenomenal demand The Wombats have extended the 10th anniversary celebrations of their classic 2007 debut album, A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation. In addition to a previously announced date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, The Wombats will headline O2 Academy Glasgow as well as a very special homecoming gig at Liverpool Guild of Students in June.
2007 was the year the iPhone was debuted, the year the final instalment of Harry Potter was released and it was the year that started it all for alt-pop trio, The Wombats.
The Wombats have an uncanny knack for writing incredibly catchy songs. A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation, featuring indie-rock cult classic, ‘Let’s Dance to Joy Division’, is a witty collection of dance floor-filling indie pop gems that are loaded with savvy pop culture references, angsty coming-of-age observations and utterly infectious hooks.
Selling over a million copies worldwide, the album went platinum in the UK and Gold in Australia, soared up the heart-seeker charts in the US, had five singles on the A List at Radio 1, and was the triple j feature album of December 2007, in Australia.
