PREMIERES THE FIRST
‘SLOW MAKERS’ FILM
NEW ALBUM ‘TIME IS A RIDDLE’ IS RELEASED TODAY ON RAYGUN RECORDS / RED ESSENTIAL
“Opener ‘Still’ is majestic dark grunge, not far from Neil Young’s ‘After The Gold Rush’. ‘Oh My God’ is boisterously in love….occsionally heavy, always affecting” – MOJO
“A beautiful, elegant testament to one of the true songsmiths and artists of the present moment” 8/10 – Drowned in Sound
“a heartbreakingly emotive record….consistently brilliant throughout” **** Dork
+ HEADLINE UK TOUR INCLUDES UNION CHAPEL ON MAY 23RD
With his new album ‘Time Is A Riddle’ released today, Luke Sital-Singh has premiered the first of a trilogy of ‘Slow Makers’ films. Inspired by his love of traditional crafts and the Slow Movement, the singer-songwriter visited the studios and workshops of crafts people he’s connected with up and down the country, including a ceramicist in Glasgow (Jono Smart), a knife-maker in Derby (Ben Edmonds of Blok Knives), and illustrator Hannah Cousins – who created the cover of ‘Time Is A Riddle’, a lino print – and The Letterpress Collective in Bristol, who are the subject of the first film which you can watch here.
“I love the process of things, especially when the process is thought through and done well,” says Luke of making the films. “I’m inspired by people who step aside from the craziness and dedicate their lives to mastering making simple things well. I wanted to meet these people, highlight their work and see what I could learn about my own work through theirs.”
Containing the singles ‘Killing Me’ – which is at almost 3m streams on Spotify – and ‘Oh My God’, Luke’s new album ‘Time Is A Riddle’ was released today on Raygun Records / Red Essential. The album was recorded in Donegal on Ireland’s west coast with producer Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers).
“For better or worse I put everything of myself into this album,” says Luke of ‘Time Is A Riddle’. “I wanted every single second of it to be thought through and yet remain organic and instinctual. Which is perhaps an impossibility, but I think we got close and I couldn’t be prouder of it. I’m so happy it’s finally out in the world.”

Luke is currently on a headline UK Tour, which reaches London on May 23rd with a date at the Union Chapel, a venue where Luke once worked as a steward.
“To play my own show at the Union Chapel is a dream,” says Luke. “Ever since I worked there as a steward trying to make ends meet as a burgeoning songwriter. I would sit and watch shows, utterly transfixed by the space, imagining myself on the stage thinking ‘maybe one day…maybe.’”
