Having launched with a four-track EP from SNØW and UK Garage legend Zed Bias in March, More Time Records are back with a quick-fire second record, this time from label co-founder, Ahadadream.

Already a well sought-after producer tapped by Roska’s RKS imprint amongst others, Ahadadream’s work on ‘Movements’ forms a natural extension of the territory fellow label head SNØW explored with Zed Bias on 001.

Drums, a creative goldmine for the label as a whole, form the core of the EP, although Ahadadream also hones in on his Pakistani heritage across the tracklist. “There’s a lot of that running through the EP, definitely” he says, particularly on the synth melodies of power-drum opener, ‘Little Pakistani Boy’ and booming Funky track, ‘Dhol’.

As with his regular show on London’s Radar Radio, ‘Movements’ is squarely and confidently aimed at the club too, with each of the four tracks listening like a celebration of exactly that — movement. Third track ‘Bonce’ picks up were ‘Dhol’ left off, with garish, bleepy sounds, classic Funky drums and another lethal dose of thick-edged sub, before ‘Bamboo Riddim’ draws the EP to close at a jolted, phrenetic pace — all of it designed to get people moving.

With early support from the likes of Toddla T and Sound Pelligrino’s Teki Latex, ‘Movements’ lands as a fierce statement by both a producer and label very much on the up.
