Perfume Genius has announced UK and European tour dates in November, including his biggest headline show to date at London’s Roundhouse on November 5, in a specially curated early doors event. Dates go on sale Friday, June 30 at 9am BST / 10am CEST and can be found below.
Perfume Genius, aka Seattle based musician Mike Hadreas, will play songs from his new album No Shape, which has cemented itself as one of the most critically regarded releases of the year so far.
Performing to a sold-out crowd at Heaven in London at the beginning of June, The Observer said, “… songs unleashed tonight beg to be bellowed in vast festival fields…”. The Times noted, “Hadreas’s delicate vocals led a sound that went from gentle and dreamlike to crashingly orchestral”, while DIY described it as “shatteringly vulnerable and terrifyingly powerful at the same time… It’s truly remarkable to witness.”
Coming off the back of supporting The xx in the US throughout September and October, the dates present an opportunity to experience an artist at the height of his prowess, set to the backdrop of his most widescreen and expansive stage show to date.
Released on May 5th, No Shape, the fourth Perfume Genius album, has received praise from outlets across the board including The New York Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Observer, Q, Rolling Stone, MOJO, GQ, W Magazine, NPR, Dazed & Confused and many others, as well as being highlighted by BBC 6 Music as their Album Of The Day.
