Anticipation continues to build for MARMOZETS’ eagerly awaited second album ‘Knowing What You Know Now’ which is set to be released on January 26th. That momentum continues as the band have revealed their new track ‘Major System Error’ which was premiered as Daniel P Carter’s Rockest Record on Radio 1. It’s the third song from the album to receive that accolade after ‘Play’ and ‘Habits’.
Radio 1’s support continued throughout the year. Scott Mills and Annie Mac both named ‘Play’ as their Tune of the Week before it was subsequently playlisted. That rush of attention continued when Annie Mac also highlighted the follow-up ‘Habits’ as her Hottest Record too. In addition, they were invited to play a special Radio 1 Rocks set at Maida Vale, plus Annie Mac included ‘Play’ in her Hottest Record of the Year shortlist.
The bristling, pulse-quickening ‘Major System Error’ is one of the band’s collective favourites. It finds vocalist Becca MacIntyre switching to banshee mode amidst a dense sonic battering. Guitarist Jack Bottomley states that the title has multiple applications because, “it feels like everything is falling apart in the world right now.” Indeed, Becca considers it to be “a relationship song.”
‘Knowing What You Know Now’ – which follows 2014’s breakthrough debut album ‘The Weird And Wonderful Marmozets’ – is undoubtedly the band’s most ambitious and provocative work to date. Recorded by legendary producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters) at the Monnow Valley Studio in Wales, the album sees MARMOZETS pushing themselves harder than ever before in a wide range of new angles and directions. It’s a collection that reveals remarkable depth and power, and confirms MARMOZETS as a major creative force unlike any other.
‘Knowing What You Know Now’ is available now for pre-order at www.marmozets.co.uk and at all digital retailers. All pre-orders receive instant downloads of ‘Play’, ‘Habits’ and ‘Major System Error’.
Based in Bingley, Yorkshire, MARMOZETS unites siblings Becca MacIntyre (vocals), Sam MacIntyre (vocals/guitar) and Josh MacIntyre (drums) with brothers Jack Bottomley (guitar) and Will Bottomley (bass). After two years of chaotic live performances and a series of increasingly acclaimed independent releases, their debut album magnified their growing acclaim and earned Kerrang!’s coveted Album of the Year accolade.
