London saxophonist and producer Nubya Garcia premiered the title track of her forthcoming ‘When We Are’ EP with NPR Music and Vinyl Factory ahead of her much talked about Jazz re:freshed SXSW showcase which will feature the very best of British emerging jazz. Innovative music curator Jazz re:freshed and showcase producer British Underground recently announced the return of UK Jazz to SXSW Festival with a 2018 showcase featuring a world-class line up of the emerging UK jazz artists currently shaping our understanding of the contemporary UK jazz scene.
The showcase on 14 March in Austin TX, which will feature performances from acts including Nubya Garcia, Zara McFarlane, Ezra Collective, Blue Lab Beats, Ashley Henry and the Re:Ensemble and Moses Boyd, Solo X, follows the unprecedented international success of the launch of JAZZ RE:FRESHED OUTERNATIONAL – a two year global partnership project presenting the artists at the frontline of the UK jazz revolution.
