Visionary scratch DJ and producer Kid Koala (aka Eric San) releases his much anticipated Floor Kids Original Video Game Soundtrack on Arts & Crafts today, pulled from the award-winning video game Floor Kids. The 42-track soundtrack features 71 minutes of original hip-hop and break music and adds another dimension to the universe of multimedia projects San has created over his twenty-year career.
Available today in limited edition 2LP gatefold vinyl and digital formats, an exclusive DELUXE vinyl edition including video game download for Nintendo Switch has been launched as well (limited to 100 copies).
In celebration of release, Kid Koala will bring his Vinyl Vaudeville: Floor Kids Edition tour across North America. A special expanded version of his road-tested variety show, the tour is complete with dancers, brass playing ants, 6 foot MPCs, 9 foot ogres, 20 foot spiders, robots, and more. He will also bring a traveling arcade of custom Floor Kids game consoles so fans can battle their friends before the show even starts. See below for a full date listing + tickets are available here.
Floor Kids is an original concept by award-winning animator bboy JonJon and Kid Koala himself, capturing the essence of what makes “breaking” an artform unlike any other. The album takes listeners through a journey across every era of the break, from silky ‘70s funk, to thumping ‘80s 808s, granular ‘90s 12bit hip-hop, and 00’s synth funk. Currently available on Nintendo Switch, Floor Kids will be porting soon to PS4, XBOX, and STEAM and has already garnered several awards for its interactive gameplay, innovative control system, and vibrant animation including the Best Game Audio award at Indie Prize.
Floor Kids is being celebrated for defining a new intersection of hip-hop and gaming. Building on the same pillars of community and creativity, the game is a reverential testament to break culture, redrawing the blueprint of body-rocking expression by dancing outside the lines.

Kid Koala has toured with the likes of Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire, A Tribe Called Quest, and DJ Shadow. He has contributed to film scores and soundtracks for Shaun Of The Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Baby Driver, and composed music for Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Sesame Street, and the National Film Board of Canada. His most recent album, Music To Draw To: Satellite, an ambient epic featuring Emilíana Torrini, was nominated for the JUNO Award for Electronic Album Of The Year.
