Les Big Byrd is Joakim Åhlund, Frans Johansson, Nino Keller and Martin “Konie” Ehrencrona – and now they’re finally getting ready to unveil their second full-length album. The band’s debut album They Worshipped Cats (A Recordings) and the previous EP Back to Bagarmossen (PNKSLM Recordings) arrived in the spring of 2014 and was followed by tours around Scandinavia and Europe with GOAT and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The following year the band released another two EPs via A Recordings and Höga Nord Records, with Les Big Byrd establishing themselves as one of the most excited new psych acts around the world, before starting work on the sequel to They Worshipped Cats.
In May last year they returned with the single “Two Man Gang” which became one of the year’s biggest indie hits in Scandinavia as well as nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award. Now the band is back with new music in the form of “A Little More Numb”, with a sound somewhere between the poppy sound of “Two Man Gang” and the psychedelic krautrock of their previous releases – the single also features a guest performance from Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom from Spacemen 3.
