Last night, Christine and The Queens returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she performed the single “Girlfriend” with special guests Dâm-Funk and The Roots. Jimmy Fallon said “Wow oh my goodness! That is how you do it right there!” after seeing the performance, which you can watch here.

The comeback single “Girlfriend” ft Dâm-Funk, the first new song after her iconic debut record Chaleur Humaine / titled Christine and the Queens in USA, was released to instant critical acclaim last month and is accompanied by a stunning video here. The single/video is available in French as well, titled “Damn, dis moi”.
If her debut was an introduction to Christine and the Queens AKA Héloïse Letissier, then “Girlfriend”, written and produced by Letissier, is a bold declaration of the next chapter in her story. She’s stepping away from her debut album towards a tougher, more minimalist, and more upbeat sound. pays tribute to her long-time love of the G-funk sound, and in order to get it exactly right, she tracked down one of its pioneers, Dâm-Funk, and asked him to sing and play on it.
