Dizzy Announce New Single, Swim, Ahead Of August Debut Album Release.
DIZZY ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE, SWIM, AHEAD OF AUGUST DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE.
Dizzy are pleased to share their new single, Swim, in anticipation of the release of forthcoming debut album ‘Baby Teeth’ out 17thAugust via Communion/Royal Mountain.
The Canadian four-piece have been teasing tracks throughout the year in preparation of the album’s release, and Swim is arguably their most compelling track to date. Loosely falling into the hazy melting pot that is ‘dream-pop’, Dizzy have a penchant for gorgeously crafted, torch songs with space and room to breathe. Each of these captivating nuggets are packed with hooks and melody, all shimmering with the back and forth of undulating guitars and vocalist Katie Munshaw’s cocooning vocal.

Swim was the last song written for Baby Teeth, and is as quintessentially, beautifully Dizzy-sounding as all their tracks shared to date. At its heart is a terrific leftfield indie-pop song that showcases a very promising young band in their opening moments. It’s a song that makes you stop in your tracks. A few minutes of aural magic.

Formed in Oshawa, Ontario by three brothers (Alex, Mackenzie, and Charlie Spencer) and a close-school friend in Katie (the band’s chief songwriter/lyricist), Dizzy have one eye cast over the classic, small-town mindset of their immediate neighbourhood, and the other on leveraging the banality and frustration of it to get them out and across the world.
Baby Teeth was produced alongside Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Damian Taylor (Bjork, Braids, Arcade Fire) at Golden Ratio Studios in Montreal.
