Danish singer LEW returns on 7 September with ‘You Said’, the first single from her forthcoming album.
‘You Said’ embraces LEW’s sizzling, dark, industrial rock universe. The single is accompanied by an appropriately atmospheric video, produced by Danish producer and photographer Jonas Bang.
LEW is singer and guitarist Sara Lewis Sørensen, who released her debut album Black Feathers in 2016. The album was well received in both Denmark and internationally: “The album imbues the minutiae of everyday life with a gloomy, acoustic magic…… Her ethereal vocals land somewhere between Karen O and Florence Welch, punk-ish but distinctly melancholic.” – Aesthetica Magazine.
The raw observations and minutiae of everyday life are continuing themes on the new single ‘You Said’, which describes what it means to walk together, the relation to another human being and daring to be brave and adventurous. Jonas Bang’s visuals for the track are both barbed and ethereal. Watch the music video here.
Both the single and upcoming album were arranged and recorded live in the studio in cooperation with Jakob Høyer (Trentemøller) and Anders Wallin (The Gun). Producer Nis Bysted (Iceage, Choir of Young Believers) is behind the mix-production, and mastering is by Emil Thomsen. Anders Wallin plays synthesizers on the single, Jens Hein plays the bass, Jakob Høyer plays the drums and Sara Lewis Sørensen is on guitar and vocals.
