Pizzagirl releases emotional xmas roller-coaster ‘Pizza For Christmas’
Pizzagirl releases xmas cracker Pizza For Christmas, an emotional roller-coaster about yuletide lonliness
Pizzagirl – ‘Pizza For Christmas’
“Blending the AM-radio aesthetic of Ariel Pink with FM-fidelity 80s pop” The Guardian
“Pizzagirl makes music that sounds like all your fave 80s movies” Noisey
“ambitious ’80s-tinged pop” NME – “wonderfully breezy escapism” DIY
Fresh from airing his season 2 EP to a rousing reception from The Guardian, Noisey, The Sunday Times, NME, DIY, DORK and many more, rising bedroom-pop artist Pizzagirl closes out his debut year as an artist with a Christmas epic. From the confines of his bedroom studio (AKA The Beatzzeria) in Liverpool, Pizzagirl channels George Michael to bring us a synth soaked emotional rollercoaster around facing the prospect of a lonely yuletide, on Pizza For Christmas.
Or straight from the reindeer’s mouth: “The winter winds have destroyed your phone line, the internet’s down and you’re snowed in, PLUS your baby can’t make it this Christmas. You slump to your freezer after burning that turkey you slaved over and it finally hits you, you’re eating Pizza for Christmas”
The single is out now via Heist or Hit and all proceeds from sales via Bandcamp will go to Claire House Children’s Hospice – https://www.clairehouse.org.uk/
