“If one thinks back to the likes of Sade or The Blue Nile, the young crooner similarly builds up impressionistic sonic worlds, giving significantly greater heft to the words. And indeed, his lyrics quite viscerally convey the perils of giving over one’s heart, and subsequently having it treated without the necessary care.”
– BlackBook
“With a slew of new singles on the horizon, SHEARE’s colorful and romantic stylings are sure to find its way into countless speakers and headphones in 2019.”
– The 405
“Looking for a new musician to obsess over? Look no further, because the chance of New York City-based musician SHEARE’s indie-pop mix stealing your heart is pretty high.”
– Teen Vogue
“90s Beck, while the atmospheric, smokey, twinkly slow-burning production shares similarities with Troye Sivan’s ‘Youth.’”
– PopCrush
“There’s something to be said for an artist who can convey feelings of heartbreak and emptiness in songs that uncannily exude positivity and cheerfulness.”
– Ones to Watch
“SHEARE’s got some heartbreaking issues on his glistening, bittersweet nostalgic synth-pop tune, and we can relate.”
– Ladygunn
“SHEARE is so cool, you’ll undoubtedly realize he is your spirit animal”
– Galore
“SHEARE is finding ways to stand out.”
– The Huffington Post
“Capri-Sun Pop, neatly packaged in a shimmering, glossy wrapper before bursting with flavor.”
– PopDust
“While SHEARE sings about the pains of love & loss…throaty guitars and billowing bass tracks keep our ears hooked. Don’t miss this one.”
– Kick Kick Snare
“SHEARE’s new single is a hazy, stomping electro-piano ballad, but the new version opts to keep the chilled-out pace while adding and trippy beats, some new synths and a hint of electric guitar.”
– All Things Go
“SHEARE dives into the hook with falsetto-galore and soaring harmonies.”
– Baeble
LA-based indie pop artist SHEARE shares his new single “SLEEPWALKING.” Yesterday, BlackBook exclusively premiered the track, praising, “SHEARE seems to be in possession of a particular gift for crafting evocative atmospherics, as strikingly evident by his haunting new single.” SHEARE will be headlining Mercury Lounge on Monday, April 1st in celebration of the release of this new single, and has announced Los Angeles shows on April 9th at Madame Siam and May 15th at The Study. SHEARE will be releasing a series of new singles he produced alongside Matty Green (Dua Lipa, The Neighbourhood) and Mike MacAllister (Donna Missal) over the course of 2019.
Last month, SHEARE put out his “SIDEXSIDE” video via The 405, who stated, “One of the harshest realities is that relationships full of love and appreciation lack an ingredient or two, resulting in an especially painful split. SHEARE captures a compelling portrait of such a relationship ‘SIDEXSIDE.’ Shimmering synths provide the perfect accompaniment to Sheer’s soaring vocals. And in the video for the track, Sheer captures the 21st-century elements that accentuate these difficult disintegrations.” The music video for “SIDEXSIDE” was shot in London and chronicles young love of millennials in the age of social media, dating apps and ghosting.
