Fresh from a series of triumphant festival appearances this summer, including performances at Glastonbury, Latitude, Bluedot and Deer Shed, She Drew The Gun have today released the politically charged video for new single Trouble Every Day, which received its radio premiere on 6Music. The track is a reinterpretation of Frank Zappas original, with She Drew The Gun frontwoman Louisa Roach re-writing the lyrics to reflect our troubled times.

Speaking about the video Louisa says, “Theres a classic picture of Zappa in an apartment holding a cat and the TV is hooked up to the toilet upstairs, we thought wed pay homage to the big man and take inspiration for the video from that. The video is all about the TV News filter, about how it defends the interests of capital rather than people. The song is over 50 years old so its amazing how much of the social commentary on it still works but I updated some the lyrics to look at the things Ive seen happening from the TV, from English riots to Extinction Rebellion. It looks at the fruits of neoliberalism, like the rise of the far right and environmental catastrophe, and at the role the media plays as propaganda machine in service of corporate power.”
The revisions to the lyrics received the full blessing of the Zappa estate who were keen to hear the song adapted to suit contemporary times.The new single accompanies the Trouble Everyday tour which is the Wirral bands biggest UK tour yet and includes Londons Electric Ballroom on October 17th.
She Drew The Gun have continued to raise their profile through the release of their celebrated second studio album Revolution of Mind and a spring 2019 tour of the UK on which every date sold out.
