Nathan Jenkins (Bullion) has shared the latest clue from ‘4 Down’, the fourth instalment in a series of cover albums on his DEEK label. Following Westerman‘s version of ‘Kathy’s Song’ by Paul Simon and a lively interpretation of Rare Silk’s ‘Storm’, Bullion turns to Bill Wither’s longing but optimistic ‘Heartbreak Road’.
He writes “I used to go around saying how much I loved Bill Wither’s album Plus ‘justments, until someone corrected me – it’s ADjustments, Nathan – Is that even a story?” ‘4 Down’ brings together a community of adventurous artists from the US, via Portugal to Aus to perform all your favourites by all your favourites. Nathan’s move to Lisbon has been central to the project, recording several of the songs there and meeting with Portuguese artist Bráulio Amado who designed the sleeve. The album has been supported by Pitchfork, Crack, Fact, RA and follows previous editions ‘Covered In Gloria’, ‘Pun For Cover’ and ‘Extraordinary Renditions’. ‘4 Down’ is out
