Molly PaytonShares video for ‘1972’
Taken from forthcoming ‘Mess’ EPOut April 23rd on TMWRK
New Zealander Molly Payton released her debut track ‘No One Else’ at the end of January this year. A statement of intent, the single was a taster of what this 18 year old songwriter has to offer. Ahead of releasing her full debut EP ‘Mess’ in April, Molly is pleased to share the video for the lead track from it ‘1972’. “1972 is partly about realising a relationship isn’t as good as you thought it was, and alongside that the frustration that shows up when you can’t move on from someone who’s moved on from you”

‘No One Else’ and ‘1972’ will both feature on Molly’s upcoming debut EP ‘Mess’. Due for release on April 23rd, the themes within it tackle the difficulties of coming to terms with the end of a relationship and figuring out how to be on your own, plus the inevitable push-pull nature of a break-up. Having moved to London two years ago at the age of 16 Molly pulled from her experiences as teenager and a new face on the scene to channel her emotions into her songs. Drawing influence musically from the likes of like Joni Mitchel, Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen Molly is old soul with a young mind. She writes of love and life in a very upfront way and the truth and honesty that exists in her songs is palpable. On the live front – you can catch Molly playing at the following shows and festivals, with more dates to be added.
