‘Take Control’ single Is released via Kompyla Records 21st January

New age reggae band By The Rivers will release ‘Take Control’ in anticipation for the release of their debut album.

By The Rivers were formed in Leicester in 2010 by Nile Barrow and Jordan Birtles. It was with a strong passion for the music, style and culture of reggae that they began to create their own sound – a unique blend of reggae, ska, soul and afrobeat infused with social commentary and positive messages.

Last year saw the band supporting 2-Tone legends The Specials on their 15 date UK arena tour playing 10,000 capacity venues and they have also previously supported the likes of Dawn Penn, Maxi Priest, John Holt, The Buzzcocks, The Beat and Fun Lovin’ Criminals.

Their new single ‘Take Control’ has a political theme related to the 2010 general election which is juxtaposed against a backdrop of big brass reverberations, soft melodic vocals and a feel good reggae flow. The single also features a dub style re-work of the track by Fun Lovin Criminals’ side project Radio Riddler and an acoustic version of ‘Don’t Stand Alone’. By The Rivers are currently on tour with upcoming dates in Blackpool, Salisbury, Leicster, Manchester, Hinckley and London.
