Molly Payton Releases debut EP‘Mess’ Out today on TMWRK
The ‘Mess’ EP is New Zealand native Molly Payton’s debut collection of songs. She first shared ’No One Else’ at the start of the year which set the tone for what this young artist had in her cannon.
The EP’s lead track ‘1972’ followed and picked up strong support for her honest songwriting skills. The latest offering from the EP, and Molly’s personal favourite, was ‘Corduroy’ alongside a beautifully shot video in her home country.

Still only 18 and now living in London after re-locating with her family 2 years ago, Molly is mastering her musical knack of turning emotional teenage experience into universally recognised anecdotes. “Mess is my first EP, recorded in a bunch of studios all across London with a few of my mates. It’s about the way I dealt with moving to a new country and all the relationships I developed as I adjusted. It’s also in some ways about learning how to say goodbye to people.” Of the previously unheard song ‘Stickers’ Molly says, “Stickers is a special song for me because it was the first song I ever recorded in a proper studio setting, back in May 2018. I wrote it shortly after I’d moved to London in a time where my friends and I really didn’t have anything to worry about except figuring out what to do each evening. I guess it’s about the mistakes you make in the pursuit of a good time.” ‘Stickers’, along with ‘Want Me’ and the three shared singles completes the ‘Mess’ EP.
