Fans of Manchester-based band Five Days North have raised £560 for mental health charity Mind following the band’s social media livestream this week. The video, the recording of which is available on Five Days North’s Facebook page, offered fans just over 40 minutes of live music and ran over both Facebook and Instagram.
The event was organised as part of the band’s recent campaign to keep fans entertained during the COVID-19 lockdown. It followed a collaborative video last month where fans joined the band in singing their hit song, ‘Won’t Stop for Nothing’, as well as the release of another livestream gig and covers.
Darryl Messer, Lead singer at Five Days North, comments: “I can’t thank everyone enough for the support and donations – we more than doubled our target, which was already set optimistically! With the current situation, mental health is something everyone should be talking about right now and we’re glad we’ve been able to contribute and raise awareness for it!”
The livestream saw Darryl performing Five Days North songs including ‘That’ll be the Life’, ‘Past Times’ and a sneak-peek of their new song, ‘Take Me Higher’, which will be available on all major streaming platforms on Friday 26th June.
