Jessie Ware ‘If You’re Never Gonna Move’

It’s said that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and you need look no further than Jessie Ware’s latest single for proof. Initially released as ‘110%’ in the Summer of 2012, an issue with the sample that producer Julio Bashmore had used of late rapper Big Pun has led to the sample being re-recorded, and the title of the track – a reference to another Big Pun song – changed to ‘If You’re Never Gonna Move’.

When a track is as warm – and warmly received – as ‘If You’re Never Gonna Move’ a superficial name-change was never likely to dull any of its gloss, and the single sees Jessie enter the new year after notching up a 2012 that most artists could only dream of. Having landed in the Top 5 of the UK Albums Chart upon release, her debut LP ‘Devotion’ has gone on to pick up a coveted Mercury Prize nomination and has found itself in countless End Of Year lists.
After dazzling audiences across the country in November she returns to the (even bigger) stages of the UK in March for a series of live dates, starting in Cambridge on March 6 and taking in all the key cities before reaching a climax in her hometown London, where she’ll now play a second night at Shepherds Bush Empire after the first date swiftly sold out.
