Once again showcasing his abilities to traverse genres and refusing to be boxed in to one sound, “Rockstar Life” hears Lloyd explore the thrilling highs of new love across effortlessly fresh and vibrant punk sounds, which he brings to life in the accompanying music video directed by Julien M. Wagner.
Regarded by Lloyd as the most important single of his, “Rockstar Life” is the latest in a string of 2021 singles from Lloyd: the angsty and honest “Lonesome”, reflecting on the pitfalls of life in the fast lane over a trap-infused production, and the glamourous “925” – between them racking up well over 150k+ collective streams.
On the meaning of the song, Lloyd shares: “The single “Rockstar Life” was not only written in my car in the middle of the night, I actually part-recorded it in my car. This is one of my favourite songs I’ve made. It’s about meeting someone like-minded and living a life together, without the limitations of society. Excited to have this set the tone for the EP!”
Based in London, but born and raised in Basel, Switzerland, Lloyd has come to attention through his DIY approach to music. Known for creating music in his bedroom with a simple setup of a microphone and his laptop, the result is something sonically unique and distinctly ‘global’, taking inspiration from the likes of Post Malone and Juice WRLD.
