To The Wind–‘Empty Eyes’

Seattle is home to many things; tax dodgers starbucks, the space needle and grunge music from the early nineties being just a handful of these things. A fourth thing from this drab and wet area of the North American west coast is melodic hardcore five piece To The Wind.

Drawing the line somewhere between Emmure and Hatebreed To The Wind play a brand of metal that is currently saturating the airwaves but thankfully To The Wind don’t indulge in the guy liner and posing. One of the most refreshing things about To The Wind is the fact they are five guys who don’t favour style over substance.

Having formed in 2008 To The Wind have spent the past five years fine tuning this machine like unit and their album Empty Eyes is the fruits of their labour and shows that all their hard work is now paying off. If you are a person who gets straight in the pit at a show or stands on the sidelines sipping from a bottle of grog and enjoying the music then this band are for you.

A diversity that is ideal for all hardcore kids teamed up with an attitude that is up there with some of the most humble bands To The Wind are bound to strike a chord with all gig goers and leave ears bleeding and brains shocked. 7.8/10.
