c*mgirl8 Sign To 4AD and Release Song New Song ‘cicciolina’

Today, New York four-piece cumgirl8 (aka cg8) share the new song and video ‘cicciolina’, their debut release on their new label 4AD. Made up of Lida Fox (bass), Veronika Vilim (guitar), Chase Lombardo (drums) and Avishag Rodrigues (guitar), the quartet come together to make boundaryless, brilliantly chaotic music that pulls from the likes of Cocteau Twins, ESG, Suicide, B-52s, Madonna and more. ‘cicciolina’ is a perfect introduction, a four-minute cut that encapsulates the raw and daring energy of its namesake, Hungarian-Italian pornstar turned politician Ilona Staller, aka Cicciolina. Speaking on the song, cg8 says:

Cicciolina is an Italian icon, porn star and former politician that was elected to parliament in the 90s. She advocated for human rights and the eradication of nuclear weapons. Cicciolina said “make sex not war” and used her divine power of femininity to troll the status quo while disrupting it from the inside. We feel her ideals are foundational to the cumgirl8 philosophy of subversive change, peace, and strength in vulnerability. We hope she loves our song, we love her very much. Cicciolina is cumgirl1.

The video directed by Emmie America is an ode to the daring multi-hyphenate. Starring the four girls as their own video-game version of Cicciolina, the members go through levels that get progressively more and more anarchic, finally climaxing at Staller’s infamous run at Parliament.
