KiLLOWEN shares new double single and video ‘2GEVA/SMILE’
Following the wildfire success of his breakthrough single ‘Sober’, West-London’s KiLLOWEN today confirms his status as one to watch for 2023 with double single and video ‘2GEVA/SMILE’. The track lands after his much hyped performance at The Great Escape with forthcoming festival slots at Parklife and Reading & Leeds still to come this summer.
As a rapper and multi-instrumentalist, KiLLOWEN moves in multiple lanes with a palpable sense of charisma. In his latest double-single, he offers two contrasting tracks that explore the multiplicity of life’s emotional extremes: ‘2GEVA’ is a 2-step banger, meanwhile ‘SMILE’ is an introspective reflection of his inner circle. Speaking on the tracks, KiLLOWEN explains: “‘2GEVA’ is the love story intertwined with club culture. How one can feel like a better person when they’re under the influence and the euphoria that comes with it. ‘SMILE’ is the harsh reality. The consequences of surrounding yourself with fake friends and peers, who might be around during the good times, but leave you lonely during the bad.”
Having gained some serious attention on social media with a short snippet of his previous single ‘Sober’, the track became a viral sensation and looks set to bring the artist the recognition he deserves. The garage anthem was written and produced entirely by 23-year-old multi-instrumentalist and has since racked up over 2.2M streams organically on Spotify, garnered 18M views on TikTok with thousands of comments from his growing fanbase and peaked at #20 on the Top 50UK Viral chart. Cutting his teeth in the world of SoundCloud rap before expanding his vision to encompass his unique fusions of UK garage, hip hop, dance and soul, both ‘Sober’ and ‘2GEVA/Smile’ are poignant additions to KiLLOWEN’s arsenal that do well to showcase everything he stands for in an honest reflection of his battles with addiction.
