Dear Reasons to be Cheerful reader,

Thanks for reading. It means a lot to us, and it gives us a reason to continue the kinds of reporting we do, and helps us to grow. We now have a full-time Editorial Director, Rebecca Worby. Executive Editor Will Doig is still a big part of the team, now focused on partnerships, fundraising, special projects and events.

Speaking of events, we have one coming up this fall: a live event in New York, which is exciting. More news about that coming soon.

In the meantime, we’re hosting a live virtual event exclusively for Reasons to be Cheerful members.

It’s on August 16 at 4 p.m. ET, and will include Rebecca, myself and some guests. If you’re not already a member you can join by July 28 and still get an invitation.
