Today, Brooklyn-based multi-hyphenate singer, songwriter, and producer Tim Atlas, who boldly blends elements of R&B, neo-soul, alternative, and bedroom pop, announces his long-awaited debut album, Enchanté, out May 31. He also shares a new synth-drenched single, ‘Just A Baby’, all out via Nettwerk.

On the single, Tim says, “’Just a Baby’ is a song about feeling like a kid when you’re with your SO. Every night is a sleepover. Sonically influenced by Sault, Jungle, Daft Punk, I really wanted one more song on this record that you could dance to.”

After attending a friend’s wedding in Paris, Tim settled upon the title Enchanté for this new body of work since “everything has this little French influence.” Colloquially, the French “Enchanté” translates to “Nice to meet you” in English. However, the sentiment transcends language barriers and embodies the excitement of making an introduction and, maybe even, starting a friendship. On his debut LP Enchanté, Tim Atlas signifies a new beginning for an artist who refuses to be put in a box

“With every project I put out, I try to show a little more of myself. Enchanté is basically a reintroduction to me as a human and as an artist. For me, this record represents the different corners of my music that I haven’t showcased,” says Atlas.

Tim Atlas has built a solid following for his unique blend of R&B, neo-soul, alternative, and D.I.Y. bedroom pop since the launch of his debut EP All Talk! in 2018. Growing up surrounded by the hills of Silicon Valley, surrounded by tech companies, a career in music, he’s said, just wasn’t a norm. But, as he told the Line of Best Fit, despite this he was “surrounded by singing, either from his mum and her love for their karaoke machine, or his dad who led the songs at church.” Once out of college, Tim decided to properly pursue a career in music, starting off as a producer and offering friends and local acts his service at low rates before beginning to create and release his own music.

Having built up comparisons to the likes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Phoenix, and Tame Impala, he signed with Nettwerk, and released his acclaimed 2021 QUOTA EP that showed off Tim’s individuality as an artist who knows exactly who he is. After the release of his most recent EP, 2023’s Le Soir, Tim embarked on a ten-stop US headline tour, where he notably sold out the Mercury Lounge in New York, Moroccan Lounge in LA and Brick and Mortar in San Francisco. On tour, Tim has supported artists such as Jungle Giants, Magic City Hippies, and Goldroom, while his avid fan base has helped him garner over 150 million streams to date.

Last year Tim took a leap of faith, trading Los Angeles for Brooklyn, and the new surroundings provided a breath of fresh air for his next chapter. He absorbed the uncontainable and undeniable energy of New York City and projected it back into the music as it materialised.

This new year  sees Tim Atlas re-emerge sounding as energised and vital as ever. With his debut LP and international dates on the pipeline, 2024 looks set to be Tim’s biggest year yet. “I hope people walk away from this album feeling inspired to be true to themselves and do whatever they want to do,” Tim shares. “I’m the most comfortable with myself that I’ve ever been in my life. I’m trying to stay true as a person who loves music. This is who I am.”
