Breakout DIY stars Joey Valence & Brae have today shared the deluxe edition of their latest album, NO HANDS. The one-of-a-kind project is expanded with new songs that include a cover of Charli XCX’s smash hit ‘365’, which the boys first unveiled live in session at Maida Vale on BBC Radio 1 this week and drops today alongside an energetic new video: “Charli and our albums came out on the same day. They feel like brother and sister albums in a weird way that both focus on fun music. The ‘365’ cover was such a fun way to explore that. It’s also such a badass song and we love her so we had to do it.”
Joey Valence & Brae are currently undertaking their mammoth world tour in support of NO HANDS, with multiple venues quickly selling out and other rooms upgrading due to demand. These include the infectious group’s biggest London show to date, with Village Underground recently upgraded to Camden’s iconic Electric Ballroom for November 25th (and also selling out).
Featuring guest turns from the likes of Danny Brown and Ayesha Erotica, the NO HANDSDeluxe Edition follows Joey Valence & Brae’s recent standalone collaboration with Pendulum, ‘Napalm’: a fitting snapshot of the genre-busting duo’s standing in youth culture. Released entirely independently, NO HANDS has already been streamed over 30 million times since dropping this summer, landing a Top 10 placement in Spotify’s Debut Albums of The Week and sending current single, ‘THE BADDEST (BADDER)’, viral.
Over the last couple of years, Joey Valence & Brae have gone from college buddies to independent sensations, with 200+ million streams, 2.4 million social followers, and a fanbase that’s as inclusive of punk kids or metalheads as it is hip-hop and pop culture stans. PUNK TACTICS, the duo’s debut album, brought the rest of the world into the fold, with swift followup NO HANDS going harder into what Joey Valence & Brae are all about. Here is a record about betting on yourself, set against the joyful, kitchen-sink sound of figuring that out. In the band’s own words, NO HANDS is “a reflection of what we’ve built over the past three years. It’s important for our fans to be like, these two kids built this on their own, and you can do the same exact thing. You don’t have to try and act cool: just be yourself and that’s cool as shit.”
