Listen Now: Avishag Cohen Rodrigues’ ‘Some Are’

New York-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Avishag Cohen Rodrigues – guitarist of New York’s all-female punk collective c**girl8 (4AD) – will release a solo EP, All Happens At Night, in February 2025 via Athens-based label WMBG. Today, Rodrigues shares the EP’s first single, ‘Some Are’ with a video directed by Adeline Thery.  Listen HERE or watch the visuals below.

As befits its nocturnal name, All Happens At Night was born in the soothing void of the night, where space and time feel sacred and far removed from the harsh demands of the daytime. All Happens At Night was written in New York and recorded in Berlin.

As well as her work with c**girl8, Rodrigues has collaborated with ensembles including Laila, Ryskinder, Yonatan Gat (Stones Tapes/Joyful Noise). Rodrigues’ own music is complex yet raw; aloof, detached, and vulnerable. Drawing upon rock, low fi, dark electronic, noise and experimental, Rodrigues tells sonic stories of raw electronic landscapes intercut with bold, cutting guitars and dark minimal vocals. 

All Happens At Night follows Rodrigues’ debut album Islands (2002, Garden Records) and One Winter One Hunter (2019, Baby Satan Records).  It is released in February 2025 digitally and as a limited-edition vinyl via WMBG.
