The re-imagined song includes slick new production from WhoJiggi (Cash Cobain – Fisherrr – Remix) and a new verse by both P90POPE and Sasha. The original version sees Sasha manifesting her dream love, the new version takes that dream and adds a magnetic sensuality to the list of wishes.
Produced by “Hold Up” collaborator, Charlie Pitts, the track about the beauty of love, is deft and heartfelt in its execution. The repeated question of “why?” is manifesting a type of love Sasha had yet to experience. On “Why”, Sasha’s songwriting prowess and unmatched command of emotive language is brought center stage, while her vocal mastery is never forgotten. Proving a huge hit with fans, the two teasers posted to IG, already have 1.3m+ views and the track has also amassed 1 million streams on Spotify. Sasha elaborates on the message behind “Why”: “I wrote the song manifesting a love that I’d never felt before. Ahead of the new remix, Sasha announced her headline 2025 shows at the Deaf Institute in Manchester on February 26thand at the Koko in London on February 27th – now both sold out, in under 48 hours. Earlier this year, Sasha released her single “Take Your Time” ft. 6LACK. Additionally, Sasha was co-signed by Beyoncé – naming Sasha as an artist who inspires her. A massive moment for the young singer-songwriter. With roots in R&B and Soul, Sasha was raised on a musical diet including, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Mary J Blige, & her Colombian roots of Cumbia & Vallenatos played a significant role in molding her into the artist she is today.
In a business where it’s safer to remain inscrutable or blankly upbeat, Sasha Keable’s commitment to the truth is a tonic. Forthright and unapologetically emotional, like all the greatest artists, the South London star pours real life pain and joy into her performances, communicating with listeners in a manner that feels both courageous and innately empathetic. As a result, Keable displays both a talent and an artistic authenticity.
This year’s releases are the first since the sensational EP Intermission which included the huge track ‘Killing Me’ featuring Jorja Smith, which racked up a whopping 10+ million streams. Following Intermission, Sasha Keable released “Hold Up”, her first single in 3 years and was welcomed with rabid adoration and enthusiasm. It racked up millions of streams and a whole host of global co-signs including Daniel Kaluuya, Sinead Harnett, Little Simz, Amelia Dimz, Odeal, John Legend, Wu Tang Clan, Jorja Smith, Enny, Muni Long, Mahalia & Maya Jama and more.
With over 18 million streams worldwide, Sasha is a rising powerhouse and continues to create a fresh, captivating musical experience that will redefine her as one of the most versatile and dynamic voices in modern music.
