SHARDS
Appear on new AMC original series ‘Soulmates’
A new series from the co-writer of Black Mirror

First Episode premiered last night and features Emmy Award winner Sarah Snook from Succession
Shards, the London-based experimental vocal ensemble whose debut album ‘Find Sound’ came out in 2019 on Erased Tapes, are excited to announce they are to feature on the AMC new original series Soulmates. The sci-fi romance 6 part series which premiered in the USA last night (5th October) has been co-created by Will Bridges (Black Mirror) and Brett Goldstein.
Shards‘ voices are heard throughout the series, with leader Kieran Brunt collaborating on scores and arrangements for episodes with Craig Armstrong, Will Gregory (Goldfrapp), Toydrum and Anne Nikitin.
Earlier this summer, during lockdown, Shards enlisted fellow musicians to collaborate remotely as the Isolation Choir on a new composition by Kieran Brunt called ‘Inside I’ll Sing’. The song, a simple expression of the worries and hopes faced by musicians in the current crisis, was written in the first few days of the UK lockdown as all of the group’s national and international concerts were cancelled or postponed.
The result was a sonic mosaic, pieced together by Brunt in his makeshift studio at home in London. The all-star lineup of musicians on the track includes Joe Newman (Alt-J), Jonathan Donahue (Mercury Rev), Douglas Dare, Anna Meredith and New York-based composer Nico Muhly.
