ANI KYD WOLF
“THE LAST STEPS
OF MAN-UNKIND”
Alternative Tentacles Records is proud to unleash the latest album from Ani Kyd Wolf “The Last Steps of Man-Unkind”
Ani Kyd Wolf has been a member of the Alternative Tentacles family since 2005, but she got here start in the Vancouver music scene back in the 1990’s as the fierce lead singer for the punk band Rumble Fish, then guitarist and vocalist for the grunge style female fronted group Spank Machine with Gerry Jenn Wilson. Wolf has been playing in bands ever since and even did a stint as the guitarist for THOR in the early 2000’s and is on THOR’s 2003 album “Triumphant”.
After meeting and striking up a friendship with Jello Biafra who was amazed with her incredible voice, she would sing back up vocals on a Jello Biafra album or two and in 2005 she released her first album on Alternative Tentacles called “Evil Needs Candy Too”.
She would go on to release two more albums “Past Demons” in 2011 and “ Entangle” in 2014. On Aug 15th 2023 A.T. released Ani’s fourth album, the 30 year old recording of Spank Machine “ Spank You Very Much”.

“War”
Showcasing her incredible chops once more for the world, Ani Kyd Wolf has returned with a vengeance and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
“Ani Kyd Wolf’s The Last Steps Of Man-Un-Kind is completely driven by attitude. What’s key is that she avoids a lot of the tired feminine tropes—coquette pop, tough metal-bitch posturing, blues-wailing mama—to deliver songs with both brazen authority and controlled seething, all while remaining accessible. More than just a vocalist, Wolf is a bona fide harbinger of things to come—sonically and politically. Expect your consciousness to be rocked. And rattled.”

NEW EPISODE OF THE BATCAST:
JON WEISNEWSKI OF SANDRIDER
Featuring former members of AKIMBO, Seattle loud-rock trio SANDRIDER released a two song 7″ “Aviary /Baleen” on Alternative Tentacles a handful of months after releasing their meteorically heavy LP Enveletration (Satanik Royalty Records). The two tracks “AVIARY” and “BALEEN” offer a concise snapshot of what Sandrider does best: pulling together lead-heavy riffs and cathartic wails into songs that are somehow fun and infectiously catchy while also being messy and relatable angry. Much like their Seattle grunge/punk-rock predecessors, their sound is paired seamlessly with modern hopelessness as much as it is crushing beers and reading Dune.
