Heralded for their dynamic and brilliantly curated programming, Talkhouse Network will be an unrivaled presence at On Air Fest 2025. Their latest offering is the brand new Summer Album / Winter Album podcast which pits renowned podcaster Jody Avirgan (30 for 30, FiveThirtyEight, What Now? with Trevor Noah, Roulette Productions) against indie rock stalwart Craig Finn (The Hold Steady frontman) in a heated, high stakes, and oftentimes tempestuous debate, which then devolves into a friendly conversation about music and meaning. It will launch at On Air Fest in Brooklyn on February 19-21 with a live taping featuring special guest Amanda Petrusich (The New Yorker) + surprise celebrity panelists. Fans unable to attend the live event can enjoy the first pre-recorded episode of the series which will publish the moment Avirgan and Finn take the debate stage.

Each episode of the Summer Album / Winter Album podcast takes on a different classic album with the goal of answering one question: “Is this a summer album or a winter album?” Avirgan and Finn present their opening statements, arguing one side of the summer/winter conundrum and are then joined by a special guest who weighs in with their opinion. At the end, listeners will hear a verdict from the artist (or a representative of their team) and crown a winner! Along the way, listeners will get a loving tribute to what makes these albums great.

Talkhouse President Ian Wheeler shares, “We’re excited to launch this new series dealing with one of the most pressing issues of the modern era: whether an album is a summer album or winter album.” Noting the different backgrounds that Avirgan and Finn come from, Wheeler adds, “Jody and Craig each are so accomplished in their respective fields, it’s remarkable to have them on the same show together tearing each other apart for our audience’s entertainment and enlightenment.”

Fans will have many more opportunities to experience Talkhouse Network programming at On Air Fest, including events with How Long Gone, Blank Check and Jokermen with guest James Austin Johnson (SNL) on the history of the New York music scene and more.
