“a walking, inscrutable, intriguing contradiction” – The Guardian
“paradox is central to almost everything Clavish does” – Pitchfork
“UK rap’s next megastar has arrived”   – NME

Today, Clavish – a defining voice leading the charge of UK rap’s new generation – returns with new single ‘1942’. Vulnerable and vicious; hauntingly beautiful yet infectious, he is an artist in command of his contradictions and once heard, completely unmistakable.

He rose to prominence with a raw freestyle clip which resonated on a viral scale, and his debut mixtape Rap Game Awful charted at No.4 on the UK album charts – the biggest-selling debut project of the year by a new artist. Featuring rap heavyweights including D-Block Europe, Fredo and MoStack, the North London artist has left an indelible mark on the culture with a dedicated global fan base. Though he is instantly recognisable, Clavish has always remained inaccessible – just beyond our reach.

‘1942’ is the pinnacle of laidback luxury, named for the Don Julio tequila which has defined the lifestyle Clavish has earned. Diamond chains, iced-out teeth, girls and endless parties – these are the mythologic hallmarks of a rapper whose dreams have aligned with reality, showcased in its accompanying music video.

The track marks a new era for Clavish who is working, more than ever, at the peak of his powers.
