Mugun shares new single ’Searching For Truth’

Today, Mugun – the Coventry-born rapper revolutionising the UK rap scene from the margins – makes his long-awaited return with ‘Searching For Truth’. Sounds from the hardcore continuum and the DNA of rave influenced by an adolescence spent in Jamaica are dragged kicking and screaming into the future. Produced entirely by himself, the scope of Mugun’s ambition is on a cinematic scale: the neo-noir of Sin City in an unfamiliar landscape, with the feeling of enchantment we feel rediscovering a childhood favourite.
A skater and anime enthusiast with a personal style which borders on cyberpunk, Mugun has always been an outsider in his hometown. His 2023 EP Walking Street announced an artist whose floor-filling instincts, Jamaican patois and collision of unlikely worlds in his lyrics is altogether peerless. ‘Searching For Truth’ marks Mugun shifting into a near gear, aware of his gifts and fully in command of his vision as a disruptor in the UK underground.
Speaking on the new single, Mugun shares: “With ‘Searching for Truth’, I just wanted to give you a feel of the ambience and the inner-city loneliness we feel in Coventry, so no matter where you are you know we all feel it together.”
The track marks a new era for Mugun who is working, more than ever, at the peak of his powers.
