Joey Valence & Brae share new single ‘SEE U DANCE’ feat. Rebecca Black

Today, alt/hip-hop hellraisers Joey Valence & Brae give a final taster ahead of their forthcoming new album HYPERYOUTH out on August 15th – this time in the form of crowd-igniting single ‘SEE U DANCE’ featuring Rebecca Black. It follows a suckerpunch return with ‘WASSUP’ ft. JPEGMAFIA, wreaking havoc at festivals around the world and a guerilla listening party announced in London last week with a packed-out crowd queuing around the block to hear the album before anyone else. For entry, there was only one rule:“You are required to dance”. They return to the UK with a six-date tour across major strongholds including London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on November 4th.

‘SEE U DANCE’ sees the duo team up with cult pop icon Rebecca Black – and the result is a 24-karat anthem drawing on the alchemy of the golden age of RnB, set for a premiere with BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders. Speaking on the single, JVB shares: “We wanted to make something reminiscent of a 2000s club track and SEE U DANCE really begged for a catchy hook featuring a female vocalist. Rebecca came in and absolutely crushed it. We’re big fans of what she’s been doing in dance music and, more than that, who she is as a human and artist. This is an immediate club smasher and we’re so excited for everyone to dance to it”.

The new track follows on from their announcement of their HYPERYOUTH WORLD TOUR, set to conquer London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on November 4th where next-level energy awaits. The album is as kinetic as the duo themselves, with forerunning singles ‘HYPERYOUTH’ every bit as ferocious as JVB’s reputation (complete with a reference to brostep-era Skrillex), and the breezier ‘LIVE RIGHT’ which carries the baton of evolution and eclecticism for their sound, with a coming-of-age theme that will make you count your blessings for your best friends. Together, they act as a statement of intent for an album which is capable of depth as well as staggering heights.

In the four years since joining forces, Joey Valence & Brae have cemented themselves as a must-see live act and bonafide recording artists, with viral one-off singles and full-length projects like 2023’s critically acclaimed debut PUNK TACTICS (its title track was just Certified RIAA Gold) and 2024’s NO HANDS and NO HANDS (Deluxe Edition) which featured Danny Brown, Z-Trip, Ayesha Erotica and more.

In between those drops, they’ve collaborated with an eclectic mix of friends and fans including IDK, Pendulum, 6ix, ACRAZE and Apashe. With each release, JVB grow bolder, braver and louder, turning up the volume on their swag as they skillfully traverse a smash and grab collision of 90s hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass and decades-spanning pop culture references while remaining undeniably themselves. They’re carving out their own niche with a signature sound that’s equal parts nostalgic yet futuristic, authentic and infectious while still on a mission to one day open a Cheesecake Factory in their hometown.
