EMI Records 2025 Wrapped
We’ve had a huge 2025 with releases from Taylor Swift to
Elton John, Loyle Carner to Lorde, 5 Seconds of Summerto Stereophonics.
Plus EIGHT number one albums and ONE number one single, it’s been busy for the EMI Records team.
Let take a walk down memory lane…
TAYLOR SWIFT
THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL
A landmark year as The Life of a Showgirl captivated fans worldwide with its storytelling and scale. The release cemented Taylor’s status as one of 2025’s most unstoppable artists. The album reached No.1 on 10th October 2025, staying there for two consecutive weeks. Single The Fate Of Ophelia spent seven non-consecutive weeks at No.1 in the UK Singles charts.
To top this off, Taylor also had two other No.1 albums with Lover (Live From Paris) in February and The Tortured Poets Department in April.
Taylor wrapped up the year with the release of her docuseries The End Of An Era plus The Eras Tour The Final Show, featuring The Tortured Poets Department, now streaming on Disney Plus.
LOYLE CARNER
HOPEFULLY !
Loyle Carner delivered his most powerful work yet with hopefully !, earning acclaim for its honesty and craft. It peaked at No.2 in the UK Album charts on the week of it’s release.
His standout Glastonbury performance became one of the festival’s defining moments as he took over The Other Stage on Friday night, with guests Jorja Smith and Sampha joining him on stage.
This was then followed by a world tour, starting in Europe in October and included four sold out night at the O2 Academy Brixton. He will be wrapping this up in March 2026 in the US.
LORDE
VIRGIN
Lorde soared to the top with a UK Number 1 with her fourth studio album Virgin, reaffirming her unique impact on modern pop.
On the Friday morning of Glastonbury, she surprised those waiting at The Woodies Stage with a secret set, debuting Virgin on the day of it’s release. It quickly became one of the summer’s most talked-about highlights.
ELTON JOHN
WHO BELIEVES IN ANGELS?
Elton John started the year with a bang, as his album Diamondstopped the UK Album Charts in January.
He then joined forces with Brandi Carlile to bring us Who Believes In Angels?, which debuted at No.1 in the Album Charts in April. To celebrate the album release, they sold out the London Palladium, with a televised interview and performance of songs from the new album (as well as a couple of old favourites!)
