Joey Valence & Brae release HYPERYOUTH (afterparty) extended version of third studio album

Fast-rising, genre-defying alt/hip-hop phenoms Joey Valence & Brae have released HYPERYOUTH (afterparty). The duo are set to bring the HYPERYOUTH World Tourto major UK strongholds including London’s Roundhouse on 12th May. The extended version of their critically-acclaimed third studio album contains six new songs including lead single “push the pipe” an in-your-face banger that shines with a reckless confidence and undefeated energy that’s quintessentially JVB. Hip-hop heads and lovers of pop culture will recognise the track’s intro as Funkmaster Flex’s iconic and chaotic radio drop from the 2011 premiere of “Otis” – and in a very full-circle moment, he debuted “push the pipe” on his HOT 97 radio show.

“afterparty wraps up some loose ends from HYPERYOUTH for us,” says JVB. “We wanted to pull in all of the elements from our previous releases and amplify them to end an era. This is us taking a step forward and completing a sort of trilogy of youth – from PUNK TACTICS to NO HANDS to HYPERYOUTH.”

JVB has also launched HOOLIGANG by JVB – a collaboration with Zumiez, which pays homage to their artful, independent and ever-inclusive community. HOOLIGANG by JVB is now available exclusively in-stores and online.

Jam-packed with all the hallmarks of the best of JVB, HYPERYOUTH digs deeper thematically and serves as the duo’s most innovative work to date. Written, produced, mixed and mastered by the pair in Joey’s State College, PA bedroom, it marries elements from their early hits and critically-acclaimed debut PUNK TACTICS (its title track was Certified RIAA Gold) and sophomore LP NO HANDS + NO HANDS (Deluxe Edition). It’s a sample-heavy, maximalist rager threaded by boisterous raps, neon-soaked nostalgia, catchy call and response hooks and EDM-infused beats. CONSEQUENCE says, “Joey Valence & Brae are using the framework of late 2000s and early 2010s pop and EDM to assemble a rough sketch of adolescence set against the tensions of adulthood and the shame attached to creative expression. [They] ask us to let loose and to stop pretending like we’re too cool to have fun.” 

In between releases, they’ve collaborated with an eclectic mix of friends and fans including IDK, Pendulum, 6ix, ACRAZE and Apashe. They’ve also conquered the sync market – landing placements in commercials for Pepsi’s award-winning “Chase Cars” campaign, Toyota and Bose, in video games such as Madden NFL 26, NBA 2k26, WWE 2025, MLB: The Show 24 and EA Skate, and on popular TV shows and in films including Street Fighter, Abbott Elementary, Cobra Kai, Karate Kid: Legends and more.
