Golden State – World On Fire (Released September 23rd 2013)

Californian modern day rock is generally a little hit or miss from this smorgasbord  comes Golden State, the four piece, regulars on the LA music scene,  are set to cast their net somewhat wider. ‘World On Fire’ marks, to some outside of North America, as their first introduction to the band, as last year’s debut album ‘Division’ only released in the USA.

So how does ‘World On Fire’ come across as a makeshift calling card? A solid starter, if not scaling the heights, artrocker called the band “Masters of big rock” – absolute bollocks, think more akin, if a shade lighter to the likes of Twin Atlantic and you’re getting closer only with a smidgen more emotion. ‘World On Fire is a pretty sleek grower, one good thing is, there will be  lot more to come.  7.2/10
