Sonia Stein arrives with her beautifully crafted new EP ‘Golden’
SONIA STEIN REVEALS HER MOST PERSONAL EP YET, ‘GOLDEN’
Comprised of favourites ‘Eyes’ and ‘Hell Ride’, alongside three new tracks ‘Ghost’, ‘So Close’ and focus track ‘Golden’, the EP is a heartfelt coming-of-age meditation, exploring the quiet cost of chasing purpose and demanding clarity – only to realise the slow, uncertain, and even painful moments were quietly golden all along. The project was expertly co-written by Polish indie-pop artist Julia Pośnik, (praised by Rolling Stone with gold-certified releases and performances at Open’er, Męskie Granie, and FEST Festival) and Grammy-nominated songwriter Taneisha Jackson (previously worked with John Legend, Doja Cat). Additional co-writers and producers on the project include London-based producer Jungleboi, Bubba McCarthy and PALMR.
The first track on the EP ‘Eyes’, is a song inspired by the instant spark when two people connect, and that sudden rush when you meet someone and everything changes. ‘Hell Ride’notes the intoxicating feeling of an all encompassing, gut-wrenching love, whilst ‘Ghost’ is a beautifully raw tribute to Sonia’s late friend. ‘So Close’ turns up the heat, capturing the feeling of undeniable chemistry and passion, and ‘Golden’ closes out the EP perfectly, providing a gentle reminder to slow down and savour the simple moments in life.
Discussing the meaning behind the project, Sonia explains: “This EP is my last project before crossing the threshold of motherhood. The songs feel like a trip or tour through my mind in my early and mid twenties, the intensity of the emotions that come with that time, having a little more space and compassion and humour for them now with enough distance. It feels good to own the parts of myself that used to feel embarrassing or ‘too much’ and interpret them from the vantage point I have now.”
And speaking on the EP’s focus track ‘Golden’ Sonia notes: “Golden is a song that feels like a coming of age meditation on growth, impatience, presence , doubt, acceptance and the quiet value of ordinary moments. It’s about learning that peace and purpose aren’t destinations at the end of a road but rather hidden on the stretch of road you’re already on.”
Stemming from an early rooted love for the piano – a foundation that still threads through her creative identity – Sonia brings the same sense of intention to her life offstage, where her commitment to sustainability and mindful, slow living runs through both her artistry and her day-to-day choices. And, now, navigating pregnancy, she’s documenting how her changing body, voice, and diaphragm are subtly reshaping her relationship with music, adding a new layer of vulnerability and curiosity to her work.
With Polish heritage and a career that’s seen her tour the world with Dido and join major UK runs with Lucy Spraggan and James Arthur, she continues to expand her story from her home in London/Warsaw, blending personal evolution and global experience into the heart of her artistry.

Singer-songwriter Sonia Stein was born in Berlin, but her crisscrossing of the globe started early, as she went on to spend thirteen years at home in Poland, then Boston where she studied at Berklee College Of Music, followed by New York and London. It was in London where her musical education really began, after a chance meeting with a producer, studying music was eclipsed by actually making music.
Now based between Warsaw and London, Sonia’s beautifully anchored, luxurious slow-burn R&B-tinged vocals caught the attention of producer Liam Howe (FKA Twigs, Adele, Jessie Ware) and the pair immediately hit it off, resulting in the incredible ‘One Of Those Things’ EP, followed by ‘Eat Your Words’ EP, ‘See Me Now’ EP and the ‘Letters’ EP, which all showcase her songwriting but also her extensive vocal range and talent as a performer. Having now amassed over seven million views on YouTube, and over ten million streams with singles including ‘Coexist’, ‘Every Time Africa Plays’, ‘Philosophical’, and ‘Zoom Out’ Sonia is an artist to watch, with ‘a voice that will leave you hypnotised’ (Wonderland Magazine).
As well as being busy in the studio, Sonia has been enchanting audiences at London and NYC fashion week, festivals including Glastonbury and supporting the likes of Alice Merton and Dido across South America, UK and Europe, James Arthur for his UK and Ireland Arena tour and supporting Lucy Spraggan on her UK tour. Her debut album ‘Lessons From Earth’ was followed with ‘Blooming Season’ about the emotional spectrum of love, from fear and vulnerability to joy and playfulness.
