PRAISE FOR REZA SAFINIA

I Feel U positions itself at that intersection: poetry evolving into lyrics, analog synthesis pushed into emotional territory, and a vocal presence that now anchors the entire structure.
-FAME Magazine

Five years after his last albums, 2021’s paired releases Yin and Yang, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and film composer Reza Safinia returns with “I Feel U,” a dark and sensual club banger about seeking connection in an increasingly fractured and isolated world. “I feel you/I need you/I feel your energy, through the screen,” Safinia croons in a honeyed falsetto as pulsating bass and squelchy synths dance their way through the storm. In just a few terse lines, Safinia reflects on the nature of connection in a digital world—how people can forge intense relationships despite physical distance—as well as what it means to relive memories of deceased loved ones and pets through photos and videos.

Heady and exhilarating in its kaleidoscopic rush, the song culminates in an ecstatic break disintegrating through extreme envelope-shaping on one of the myriad analog synthesizersSafinia has collected in recent years. It resolves with a healthy dose of acid and is the first glimpse of Safinia’s forthcoming new double album, 1/∞, a sprawling exploration of the intense polarities that shape modern life delivered in four elemental acts—”Fire,” “Water,” “Earth,” and “Air,” from which this track is taken. 1/∞ is due out in August 2026.

“I Feel U” is out April 10, 2026 via all DSPS.

REZA SAFINIA BIO

Reza Safinia is a London-raised, Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer whose work moves fluidly between electronic music, classical composition, and film scoring. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with artists ranging from Dr. Dre and Britney Spears to Kylie Minogue, while also touring with Destiny’s Child and composing for film and television, including the HBO Max/Netflix series Warrior.

With roots in pophip-hop, and underground electronic music, Safinia’s artistic identity has evolved into a distinctive hybrid language— One in which he fuses his performance of live piano, guitar and bass with deeply tweaked analog synths as a bed for his haunting vocals evoking Dave Gahan, Bowie, Morissey, even shades of the delicate tones of Jeff Buckley.

His sound could almost be described as a modern day Depeche colored by modern techno, and ancient spiritual traditions, resulting in music that prioritizes texture, atmosphere, and emotional depth.

His previous albums, Yin and Yang, explored the balance between post-classical minimalism and electronic production. Yin was Neoclassical, Yang, Electronic, sharing the same melodies they form holistic and meditative body of work exploring cosmic connections as well as the balance and polarities.

His forthcoming double album 1/∞ expands that vision into a broader conceptual framework. Structured around the four elements—fire, water, air, and earth—the project explores cycles of creation, destruction, and transformation through a study of our relationships as individuals, as nations, as consciousness to our planet and beyond. Every song captures some aspect of our unity and infinite fragmentation from it.

The first single, “I Feel You,” introduces the Air dimension of the record. Built on a heavy, rumbling bassline, syncopated rhythms, and evolving synth architecture that pushes the limits of synthesis through extreme envelope shaping. The track merges club energy with emotional vulnerability, reflecting connection across distance, memory, and absence.

Reza’s love affair with music started at the age of five, when his aunt gave him a Barry White cassette… he was so entranced with every aspect of the music, from that famous silky vocal, to the sweeping string arrangements, rhythmic syncopations, the snare sound… He listened to that tape so many times, he had memorized every single arrangement of every instrument down to the cowbell on every song by his next birthday, when he moved onto Michael Jackson, but at this point Reza was already more interested in Quincy Jones’ production and decided that’s who he wanted to be when he grew up. Shortly after that came a lifelong obsession with Prince which led to him writing his first songs on a Casio keyboard.

By his teenage years, Reza was making four track demos, delving deep into every genre of music, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Run DMC, NWA, Guns N Roses, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, it all started mixing in his mind, informing his own artistic palette. Over the years Reza became more and more influenced by both electronic ambient music, and romantic era classical music. On the one hand studying Schubert’s impromptus and on the other studying Aphex Twin’s approach to tweaking the hell out of a synth… all the while infusing the latent knowledge of soul, hip hop and rock from his younger days.

Across his work, Safinia continues to blur boundaries between genres and emotional states, creating music that connects the physical and the unseen.
