Amyl & The Sniffers announce live film & record ‘Truth Or Consequence’
Amyl and The Sniffers have announced the impending release of a live album and film, but in classic Sniffers style, this is anything but a conventional live record.
In April last year the band set up with a group of friends at the iconic El Coyote Mexican Restaurant in LA to film and record a one of a kind performance – reimagining their songs as stripped back, country versions. As well as some fan favourites, the set features two unreleased songs and a cover of Slim Dusty’s ‘Lights On The Hill’.
Elastica announce debut album reissue
Elastica’s iconic self-titled debut album is set to be reissued by Rough TradeRecords on 2 October in a new edition boasting rarities and b-sides.

Absorbing atmospheres and attitudes of their post-punk and new wave forbears, Justine Frischmann (vocals, guitar), Annie Holland (bass), Donna Matthews (guitar, vocals) and Justin Welch (drums) poured their own identities into the album’s 15 tracks which balancing youthful swagger, with sage-like observation and a knowing cool that made Elastica and their debut effortlessly timeless.
Rough Trade 45’s Boxset – Volume 2
The nine disc set includes repressings of handpicked 1980s and 1990s releases from The Fall, Scritti Politti, Robert Wyatt, Aztec Camera, The Go-Betweens, Jonathan Richman, The Sundays & Mazzy Star.
Additionally The Smiths’ The Headmaster Ritual becomes a Rough Trade single especially for this release at Morrissey & Marr’s request, with unique b-side plus new artwork from Morrissey.
Sleeve notes feature new interviews with Rough Trade co-MDs Jeannette Lee & Geoff Travis, plus contributions from Elvis Costello, Harriet Wheeler, Anton Corbijn, Stewart Lee and more.
The Veils announce first three albums reissues
The Runaway Found (2004), Nux Vomica (2006) and 2009’s Sun Gangs established the New Zealand band as purveyors of lush, romantic indie, able to sweep through cinematic vistas into intimate emotional corners, via gothic orchestration and atmospheric driving rhythms.
Having only enjoyed a limited vinyl run on their releases, due to the format’s neglected commercial status during the 2000s, the repressing of The Runaway Found, Nux Vomica and Sun Gangs, offers audiences a fresh opportunity to enjoy these records with the full depth, fidelity and artwork they deserve, and reminding listeners of the musical secrets The Veils revealed to the world.
