Hot Chip’s gradual shift from exciting electro-pop to so so indie-ish pop has coincided with Joe Goddard’s involvement in The Two Bears, he being one of them (Raf Rundell the other). The Two Bears projected started last year after they pitted their talents together at back to back DJ sets, this naturally led to them embarking on production and this, their third EP has them finding their furry paws coming together rather nicely over four tracks.

The ironic use of auto-tune on ‘Take a look around’ can be forgiven when the actual tune is a fantastic piece of soulful house music which could have been knocking around in DJ boxes in the late 80’s. Best track on offer is the cheeky ‘Bear Hug’, offering a “maximum dance floor uplift’ over a strange 1990’s hip house track ala Tyree Cooper, on this showing this showing the album will be a stormer. 8/10
