(JUNE 3, 2014 – TORONTO, ON) – Dine Alone Records is thrilled to announce the worldwide signing of Brooklyn-based New Zealand indie-folk outfit STREETS OF LAREDO. Inspired by the evangelical fervor of the 70’s folk circuit that spawned modern day re-incarnations like Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Father John Misty, and Delta Spirit, STREETS OF LAREDO gelled around the idea of a traveling family band playing unruly sing-along tunes with whatever instruments were at hand. Known for their high energy, mesmerizing stage show and a sound that is a seamless blend of timeless jangly folk and foot stomping pop, STREETS OF LAREDO is comprised of brothers Daniel and Dave Gibson, Sarahjane Gibson and extended family members Si Moore, Tom Darlow, Sean McMahon, and Andrew McGovern.
The outrageously infectious septet are set to tour across North America this June with dates supporting Leeds indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs and New York Indie pop buzz band Cults. The month-long tour kicks off in Baltimore on June 3 and features an appearance at the world-renowned Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, a stop in Montreal on June 7 and an opening slot for Cults in Toronto on June 8 at Lee’s Palace. To commemorate the tour, STREETS OF LAREDO will be releasing a digital EP named after their latest single “Lonsdale Line”. The 5-song EP, which is set for release on June 10 via Dine Alone Records, features 3 bedroom demos recorded by the Gibson brothers for their forthcoming debut due out this fall.
