Bad Wolf release debut album, ‘False Conscience’ and play summer festivals.
‘False Conscience’, the debut album from Bad Wolf is a revelation of an alternative rock album. Described as the missing link between punk and the true sound of independence, it is a multi personality collection of songs, that needs to be heard to be believed.
This British/Danish trio hurtle from major metal magnificence to soaring pop ballad (via epic, sci fi gothic rock opera – with choirs!) in a spectacular style, recorded and produced by Steve Sears (Gallows, Kids In Glass Houses).
Mathias Upton-Hansen (drums), Edward Batchelor (bass, backing vocals) and Simon Harris (vocals, guitar, piano) are, collectively, “new band of the year” contenders, courtesy of ‘False Conscience’, the album they had to make.
Bad Wolf formed in 2010 and made a video of the demo for album track, ‘Who’s Got Your Back’, on East London’s Old Street Roundabout. In 2011 they released a debut double single/video set: ‘Hot Lunch’/’Addiction Fiction’ and have since, consistently, picked up credible, positive feedback whenever they are discovered.
In 2012 their main stream chart worthy epic single, ‘Too Much Too Young’, caught more attention. A live stream gig for the Playhard show added more fans and offers of gigs from around the world (including world famous LA venues). They were also voted one of the Top 5 new UK bands by Canadian music industry.

The London trio spent this year working on ‘False Conscience’ and showcasing the tracks, live. Set lists were made up on the night, sometimes by fans picking a number from a shopping list of songs.
The serious side of things has seen them compared to Queens Of The Stone Age, Mansun, Muse, The Manics, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and more. In short, its a classic sound with added edge. The back story of Bad Wolf is an under radar rock band having infectious, international fan winning, FUN.
By 2013 they were getting BBC Introducing play (courtesy of Gary Crowley) and some pretty lively scenes on the dance floors, before hibernating to Titan Studios in Watford to record.
Upon revealing the completed body of work to industry insiders this spring, they were snapped up by some of the nation’s best festivals for new music; The Great Escape (smashed it!), Camden Crawl (21st June) and Tramlines (26th July) as album launch shows.
Already on the radar of both independent and national music media, (Kerrang! called them “bold”, Xfm Radio called them “everything you want a band to be”), Bad Wolf could possibly have made your favourite album.
